Greetings to all Fire Service Instructors!  Listed below is the course schedule for the Annual MFSIA Conference held at the Park Place Hotel in Traverse City on October 25-29, 2017.  Some of the highlights and events include:


  • Golf Outing, Elmbrook Golf Course, October 25th, 1PM
  • Fire Investigation 8-hour Seminar, October 26th, 8-5PM
    • This is a tested course and will have fire inspector credits assigned as well
  • Regional and Instructor of the Year Awards, October 27th, Noon
  • Bi-Monthly MFFTC Meeting, October 27th, 1PM
  • MFSIA Board Meeting and Elections, October 27th, 330PM
  • Scholarship Award and Annual Banquet, October 28th, 6PM.
    • The theme this year is “Oktoberfest!”  Feel free to dress the part.

Dear Vendor:

You are invited to exhibit your products during the 69th MFSIA Annual Educational Conference.  The conference will be held at the Park Place Hotel in Traverse City, MI October 27, 28 & 29, 2017.

This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your product to over 200 instructors from Michigan for this year’s conference. This year the Vender cost will be $350.00 this will include table space for company representatives and their meals for the conference  and also an Associate membership to the MFSIA organization. The membership gives you liability insurance through the association, to cover the hotel insurance policy.

Booth set up time will be on Thursday the 26th from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Vendor booths will be open to attendees from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday the 27th & Saturday the 29th.

If your company would like to donate door prizes to the association, please indicate such on the registration form. We will have an organized door prize event at the Annual MFSIA Meeting. The door prize giveaway is a very popular and appreciated event. If your company would like to be a sponsor on our web site the cost is $50.00 . All we need is a logo in jpg. 

It is essential this year that we require your written reservation. Should you plan to attend, kindly sign the registration form enclosed and return with check payment or charge your registration on our MFSIA 2 Checkout Store . We will need a copy of the registration form.

Awards will be made each year to high school graduates to assist in paying tuition at accredited institutions whether they are Vocational/Technical School, a community college or a four-year college

Honoring a firefighter who lost his life to a burn injury, a $500 award is given annually to a fire department whose innovative efforts have had a demonstrated impact on fire safety & prevention.Submit by August 31st:  www.traumaburn.org/prevention/leland.shtml


Burn Injury Awareness Day
October 1, 2017
Come celebrate together at the 5th annual picnic reunion! The event will be held at a new venue this year, with zip lines, ropes course, trails, and lots of fun activities for all ages!   Registration for the picnic reunion is open now atbiaw.med.umich.edu

Burn Survivors and Family Workshop
March 10, 2018
Co-hosted with the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors and Detroit Medical Center's Burn Center. This free workshop is open to burn survivors, their family members, firefighters, and medical professionals.
